Marion Bowman,67, of Pyrmont sustained injuries Friday afternoon on the Pyrmont-Brookville road that caused almost instantaneous death. Mr. Bowman, who had been cemetery sexton at Pynnont for several years, had bought himself a motorcycle to be used in connection with some of the errands that arose in I the course of his work. Although he had never ridden a motorcycle, he attemptpd to ride his new machine home from Brookvllle, A short distance west of the village he encounteredtrouible,and putthe. cycle out commission Hal Mundheck of Pyrmont came along in an automobile, and sensing his friend's trouble, suggested that it be hitched behind his car and betowed in. This was undertaken ,Bowman riding the towed machine. They had not proceeded far when Mr. Bowman seemingly triedto adjust his position on the machine with the result that it swerved sharply, and hurled him from the seat. Landing on his head he sustained a fracture of the skull and adeep scalp wound. He was dead when Mr. Mandhenk reachead his side. Funeral was held Sunday afternoonfrom the PyrmontU.B. church by Rev Armstrong Burial was I made in the Pyrmont cemetery, of which he had been caretaker. The fatal accident occoured about one half milewest of the corporate limits of 'Brookviille near the home of Abner Rhodes, the taxidermist.
