REVOLUTIONARY WAR MEN CAME FROM MANY FAR AWAY PLACES
Eber Homan, born September 9, 1764 on Long Island, N.Y., went with his father when 2 or 3 years of age to Morris Co N.J.While residing in Mendham Twp Morris Co, he enlisted in 1779 & served 6 months in Captain Ward's Company under Major Hays in the New Jersey Troops & was discharged December 15,1779.In 1780 he moved to Fayette Co PA & served in Captain John Powers' Pennsylvania Company.
Mr. Homan was married 3 times & had 8 children by each wife.He came to Ohio where he received a land grant in Warren Co & was among the earliest settlers there.
He came to Preble Co with his family where he was allowed a pension November 1, 1833 at $20 per year.He died october 1840 & is buried in Roselawn Cemetery at Lewisburg.
