Sometime around 1800 six Scots-Irish siblings (John, James, Crawford, Nancy who married Noble Beals, Sarah who married Rev. Rice and ? who married ? Edgar)from County Down came to America. They stayed briefly near Pittsburg, PA (which was then the frontier) until a dwelling was prepared for them in OH.John, the eldest died in Ross Co. in the 1832 Cholera epidemic and his descendants moved on to MO.James married a Wilson and remained in Ross Co., as did Crawford who married Sally McClure. According to his youngest grandson, Crawford (who was born in 1790) worked for George McMunn when he first arrived in OH.Does anyone have any information about George McMunn? Crawford and Sally Crawford had several children whom we have not been able to identify since census records did not list them by name.We believe that Allen (b. 1816) was the eldest but there is a gap with several children born between him and Nancy (b. 1824).Their other children were: Catharine (b.ca 1832), Abigail (b.ca1834)and William (b. ca 1836)--all Ross Co., OH. I would appreciate any help.Thank you.
