In a Book " The Story of Bourneville, Ohio" by J. Rodney Gragg is the following : Lot #1 was owned by Dr. Dias S. Smith. He built a substantial story and a half house near the East line. and a two room office on the West line. Dr. Smith came to Bourneville, married a Chillicothe girl by the name of Anna M. Ritter May 3,1882. Mrs Smith was the niece of the late Henry Long of Chillicothe and later on inherited some property from him. DR. Smith had two children , Maude who married a Charles A. Core of a Pioneer Twin Township family and Miss Hazel Core of the Paint Valley school faculty is a granddaughter of Dr. & Mrs Smith. The Smith`s second child was Arthur Noble Smith . Art was the leader in all the youthful pranks perperated arond 1898 to 1902. Arthur with Ed Baum and Freed J. Corocoran graduated frim Twin Township High School " Cornfield College " in 1904. Arthur followed in his fathers footsteps and upon receiving his M. D. was in Upper Sandusky for a while, later moving to Toledo where he died a few years since. After Dr. Smith moved away in 1912 , J.C. Gragg and family lived there until thre removal to Bainbridge in 1919. " This is all Rodney wrote about Dr. Smith, I hope this helps. Keep the family alive by remembering those who are gone.
