I noticed a number of MORRISON researchers on this List.Would you please check your MORRISON marriages in the mid-ate 1700's for a marriage to a BLISS, BUMP or NURSE?This would probably have happened in MA, CT or NH.
Our Reuben NURSE and his wife Sophia BLISS named a son Morrison NURSE and I can't find out where the name MORRISON came from.Reuben's brother, Uriah NURSE, named a son Warner Morrison NURSE too, so I think that name may have come through the NURSE line.
Reuben NURSE was the son of Samuel Rogers NURSE and his first wf. Lucy BUMP.I have the female lines back on the NURSE line, but am missing the maiden name of Lucy BUMP's mother.
Both this NURSE and Lucy BUMP's father went to Windham Co., (now in VT, but then claimed by NH) in the 1770 time period and later migrated to Chenango Co., NY.The NURSEs went on to Scioto Co., OH by the early 1800's.
Sophia BLISS, wf. of Reuben NURSE, was the dau. of Samuel BLISS and Sally?.Since I do not have a maiden name for Samuel's wife, the MORRISON name could have come through her line.Samuel was living in Gilsum, Cheshire Co., NH (just across the Connecticut River from Brattleboro where the BUMPs lived) when he would have been married.
