I visited the Vaughter's Cemetery May 31, 2004 and copied the inscriptions from the Nurse stones.I am also a descendant of Rebecca and Francis Nurse, Sr. so I was intested. Here is what I found:Joshua NURSE, died August 10, 1823, aged 79 Years. (His stone is broken in half.); Elizabeth Nurse, wife of Joshua Nurse, Died Dec. 2, 1821, aged 79 years. (ElizabethRogers)Other Nurse stones include:SAMUEL R. NURSE, DIED, July 29, 1845, Aged 75 years. (R./Rogers);Lucy wife of SAMUEL R. NURSE, died Sept. 10th 1823, aged 52 Years. (Lucy Bump); Lyman, son of Samuel R. & Lucy NURSE, died Sept 10th, 1824, aged 17 Years; These three graves also have foot stones. Finally, there is a small stone: In Memory of An Infant daug. of Isaiah and Esther Nurse, who died Sept 15, 1821, aged 3 days. "Infant daughter" is buried next to her gr-grandmother, Elizabeth Nurse.Actually, the baby is the first Nurse buried in the Vaughters Cemetery. I did my best to be very careful copying the gravestones but some are hard to read, etc.
