Tuesday, September 02, 1952 Mr. And Mrs. Violet Joint funeral services were held Friday at the Lucasville Methodist Church for John Samuel Violet and his wife, Mrs. Kathryn Violet. The Lucasville couple died within an hour of each other Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning. Rev. Gordon Groby officiated at the joint rites. Burial for Mrs. Violet was in Lucasville Cemetery, Interment for Mr. Violet followed in Greenlawn Cemetery. Masonic and joint Eastern Star services wore held for the couple Thursday at McKinley Funeral Home. Pallbearers for Mrs. Violet were William R. Journey, Joe Zaler, James Beard, Earl Cooperrider, C. F. McManus and Sam Carson. For Mr. Violet, pallbearers were Sandy Phillips, Earl Stephens, Charles Zaler, Esto Davis, Clinton Spriggs and Roscoe Milam. Relatives and friends attending the services included Mr. and Mrs. Roettgier of Greencamp; Mr. and Mrs Lawrence Adams of Woodsfield; Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Lewis, Mrs. Lavada Myers, Miss Helen Krug, all of Rio Grande; Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Brewer of Covington; Mr. and Mrs. Spriggs of Detroit; Mr. and Mrs. Carson of Marietta; Mr. and Mrs. Beard of Covington; Mr. and Mrs. McManus and daughter Karen, and Mr. and Mrs. Cooperrider, all of Newark.
