Kaye Watson,
Thank You for your help on the STAUB line. With the BIO you posted, plus an on-line 1850 Census of Seneca County, we now have a better picture of my wife's ancestors there in Seneca County, Ohio. We now know the Staub's listed on the Census were the one's "Uncle Buddy" mentioned, plus Elizabeth Hayes born in Maryland, listed under Joseph Hays, is actually Elizabeth Staub.
Additionally, we found three more Hays in the Seneca County Census which may also be in some way related to Elizabeth Staub Hayes; they are: Marlin Hayes age 30 from VA, [Joseph Hays is also from VA (possibly a Brother)], Susan Hays age 20, and elsewhere a Phebe Hays age eleven. You also provided us with Philip's wife's maiden name: Kuhn; this is a good find, and finally, you've showed where the Staub's came from: Adams County, PA, for an excellent lead. It is possible that this county, or parts of it, were at one time York County, PA, which is something else I've recently learned.
Again, Thank You,
Dave, presently a Happy amateur genealogist
