Alfred Clemens (sometimes Clemans) is in the 1850 Stark Co census (p. 406), as the eight year old son of Abraham, b. 9 Aug 1815, m Elizabeth Rhoades 7 Jan 1838. Four other children. Abraham farmed about 120 acres on the east side of what is now South Paris Road, which runs between Paris andMinerva, and about a mile north of US 30.
Abraham is a son of Nicholas Clemens supposedly born in 1783 in PA, and Mena Moul/Mowl, and may have arrived in Paris Township around 1806. Abraham's older brother, Daniel who died young, is my line. Nicholas, Mena, Daniel and his wife Leah Cameron Clemens Sponseller are all buried in the churchyard cemetary in Paris.
