I am a lifetime resident of Massillon. Fairless was a son of David D. Williams, and he had a sister Mary, who married Harry Lash. David D. Williams died in Massillon in 1954. When Fairless became a steel magnate, he remembered his sister's family. I was a good friend of their daughter, Ruth Lash, and remember spending several days at his palatial home in Youngstown with her. His chauffeured limo picked us up and took us there and returned us to the Lash home, a half block from my childhood home. Fairless married a Blanche, (I knew her as Aunt Blanche, but can't remember her maiden name.) They had one son, Blaine. More info should be available from the Massillon Public Library.
