My grandfather (18 years of age) left Trumbull Co., OH (from the Southington Twp. area) in the late summer of 1878, arriving in MI fall of 1878. I understand the family traveled in a caravan, that seperated somewhere along the route.
Does anyone know of a sizeable? group from Trumbull Co., OH that headed north on Route #7, heading for MI and other places (not known to me).
The information came from a paper of Loretta Custer, (now lost to us). My grandfather was one of 9 children of the Judah Custer family. Interested to know about the caravan. I know the Custer family got land from the Ionia land office in MI.
