....wrote me(after I had inquired about my ancestor). They checked in the Trumbull County Cemetery book (years covering 1800-1930) and typed a list of those buried from each cemetery of each township ....of those with my ancestor's last name. I could not believe how considerate they were! Sadly...my ancestor was not among those listed.
Interestingly....he was buried at Oakwood Cemetery in Warren, Ohio. Why couldn't I nor the office find him there? The cemetery opened 1848-1849 but now is missing itsrecord books dated 1849-1887.Always ask a cemetery if any of their records are missing and what years! A wonderful stranger found my ancestor while walking the grounds searching for her ancestors. This wonderful discovery of my ancestor started with GenForum and an inquiry I placed on it.
Another idea.My ancestor remarried after his first wife died. His 1st wife (and two of their children) were buried at Pioneer Cemetery, Warren Ohio..but he and his 2nd wife were buried at Oakwood Cemetery, Warren Ohio...along with a few other relatives.
