I guess we are first cousins once removed! They are my gr-grandparents, too. I found a pedigree for Hudson's mother. I never did and probably never will find his father.Hudson was b. about 1854, according to obituary, in Hubbard, Trumbull, Ohio, but lived in Venango County, PA most of his life. Hudson's mother was Hannah (nee Luce or Luse) and she married before 1860 to David Hoobler, and they lived in Sugar Grove, Mercer. PA.Hudson's last name is shown as Beach in the 1860 Census.I wonder if Hudson's father died in the Civil War? I know there were Hudson families living in the area, and I assume his first name was maybe an ancestors maiden name.Family tradition says Hudson was half French and half Swedish, and that he lived for a short time in Punxatawny, Mercer County, PA, and that at one time he worked for a railroad. Hudson married Ellen Florence Hovis. He appears in 1870 census as Hudson Hoobler, but that's an error. He lived in Franklin, Venango Co. in 1900 and died there in 1929 intestate. He is not mentioned in the will of his step father, David Hoobler, nor his step grandfather, Daniel Hoobler.Information on Beach Family of Trumbull Co. can be found in "Geneological Abstracts of Revolutionary War Pension Files."er.
