Karen hope the following will help. This is from my friend who helps me with look ups of obits, cemetery listings, etc.
"There are NO MONUMENTS in Seceder Cemetery (Liberty Township) for ANYONE by the name of HILL. The cemetery book says "many of the stones in this cemetery are weathered badly and are difficult to read". I also checked ALL cemeteries in Liberty Township and find no Margaret Hill. She says: "When I see you, I'll bring you a map of how to locate Seceder Cemetery and a copy of the Seceder Cemetery page that shows where John Denison (died 29 Oct. 1821, Rev. Soldier) is buried and his wife Mary nee McCullough Denison is buried but there is something not correct about the death information shown for Mary. It says she died 29 Feb. 1843 age 84 years! She must have died some time closer to 1880 (maybe 1883 instead of 1843?)"
"There are two marriage records for Margaret Denison in Trumbull County but both appear to be the wrong age for a Margaret born sometime between 1795 and 1800. # 1William Elliot(just one T), age 18 by consent of his guardian William Bartholomew, married Margaret Denison of Liberty on Jan. 5, 1832, by JP John Fight, Trumbull County Marriage Record 2, page 112 # 2 Margaret Denison, age 16, of Liberty, married Andrew J. Mears, age 20,on the 10th of Jan. 1839 by Rev.Thomas McDermott, Trumbull County Marriage Record Vol.3, page 104. The Ohio marriage records this time period, did NOT show names of parents. No marriage record Trumbull County Ohio for Margaret with surname spelled DENNISON."
"The marriage record in Trumbull County shows Edward J. Elliott and Mary Hill of Liberty were married 19 April 1948 at John Baird's home by JP William Stambaugh, Marriage Record 4, page 292. Check the 1850 Census for John Baird, Liberty Township and you will find there are Bairds, Elliotts, and Denisons living in that household but not the newly weds."
Karen,I will check those census records now and get back to you if I find them.I'll let you know if my friend "Millie" digs up anything else. I will see her next Saturday and she will give me directions to Seceders Cemetery.I looked it up online and found nothing.I was thinking that maybe the name had been changed or the spelling was wrong but Millie knew of it.She wasn't sure last Saturday how to tell me to get there. I'll try to get to it next weekend and take pictures for you.
