My ancestor, Epaphroditus Cossitt, practiced medicine in Warren from 1805 until 1808. He was about 21 and just out of Yale in 1805. He is suppose to have established a newspaper in Warren. He also did a leg amuputation on Hon. Webb, a prominent attorney during this time. His father, Silas, lived in Vernon from 1805 until 1819 when he died. I have found tax records for Silas and a record that he is buried in Vernon, but nothing else. I'd appreciate any other information that might be available or suggestions on where I might look. Thank you.
