BRADENTON, FLA – Private funeral services were held yesterday, May 21, 2008, at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel officiated by Fr. George Popovich, for Ruth K. Axiotis, who passed away May 15, 2008 at Blake Medical Center in Bradenton. Ruth K. Axiotis was born Jan. 8, 1924, in Youngstown, the daughter of John and Teresa Papoi Marquard. She moved to Florida in 1987 from Paramus, N.J. She married Emanuel “Manuel” Axiotis on June 8, 1974; he preceded her in death on July 9, 2000. Ruth was of Catholic faith. She loved her pets, which she absolutely cherished. Survivors include a brother, Ray Marquard of Fontana, Calif.; two sisters, Helen Maloney of Deltona, Fla., and Doris Rogers of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; and two sisters-in-law, Jean Axiotis and Chris Axiotis, both of Warren. She also leaves numerous nieces and nephews. Her parents and husband preceded her in death. Calling hours were private, burial was at Oakwood Cemetery.
