Dear Kathy, I anxiously followed your query and Peggy's fine reply. What happened?I'm anxious to know because -My evasive Rev. War pensioner ancestor Joseph Holley had two known sons.My ancestor, Isaac Holley, came to Michigan. The other son,Stephen Holley, b about 1785, was in Freetown, Cortland, NY in 1820 and 1830. In 1840 and 1850 he was in Milton Twp., Wayne, Ohio.Stephen married Polly Welch.Stephen and Polly were buried in Seville, Medina, Ohio in 1863 and 1877 respectively, in a cemetery plot owned by Cornelius Welch.Hope to learn more aboutStephen and through his descendants unravel the parents of pensioner Joseph Holley who d in Cortland Co., NY.
I'm pretty sure I've seen John S. Welch on some early Cortland Co records.
Help appreciated both on conclusion to your story and my related problem.Thanks.Pat
