Hello Judy, Im excited, we did have her as a Fin(d)ley in our family files but no mention of her husbands name or where she ended up.
Daniel & Catherine came to Ohio from Centre cty, Penn. with his family, in the year 1813. He settled at Rouseberg, Wayne county, & resided there until the year August 1833, when he removed to Lyme, Ohio. He settled on lot # 2, where Martin Hayward now lives. He sold the farm to Hayward in 1855, after which he & his aged wife made there home with their son John Williams, near Milan, Ohio & where he died in June 1858 & she in February 1862. They had eight children David the eldest son, resided, for a number of years, in the southwest part of section four, on lot # 24. He erected a substantial brick dwelling. He as well as his wife Catherine Henney are burried in the Milan Cemetery with many of the Williams generations after that.I am a Williams directly decended from David Williams and his son Daniel Williams.
I actually have David Williams Will, just had it sent to me from Wayne County Library, only mention of any family is his wife Margaret (Lyons) Williams, giving her everything. I was told she came to Bellevue, Ohio after her husband David died, but I can't seem to find either of their resting places.
I am stumped on what happened to the only other son of Davids and that is William Williams b. abt 1781..brick walls are frustrating to say the least but at least you have helped in a piece of the puzzle. You can actually go to the cemetery website of Milan, Ohio and you will see a text file of all the Williams buried there.I will gather together Daniel's other children if I have something on them and post here for you, if you would like.
