My deceased "Aunt Mildred" Butler Heath was the family historian and record keeper.There are two pictures of Catharine Brinkman Butler(c. 1900)in the family with the following information written on the backs by "Aunt Mildren":
"Catharine Brinkman was born in Baden Germany February 19, 1836 and died February 12, 1921, and funeral services were held at the home of Lewis Butler, Pioneer, Ohio, February 14, 1921.She left to mourn her departure eight sons, many grandchildren and great grandchildren.She came to America in 1852, age 16 years, made her home with an uncle in Seneca County, Ohio.At the age of 19 years she married James L. Butler, and to this union ten childrewn were born, 9 sons and 1 daughter.The daughter and one son died in early childhood."
"Catharine Brinkman Butler was born in Baden, Germany February 19, 1836, and died Feb. 12, 1921.
"She came to America in 1852 when 16 years of age and made her home with an uncle in Seneca Co., Ohio, until 19 years old when she was married to James L. Butler.
"James L. Butler was born Apr. 13, 1812, and died Jan. 20, 1891.
"To this union ten children were born, 9 sons and one daughter.She died in early childhood.
"Catharine and her husband united with the United Brethren Church at Bridgewater, Ohio.
"Funeral services were held at the home of Lewis Butler (the oldest son) in Pioneer, Ohio, Feb. 14, 1921, conducted by Rev. J.F. Slough and burial was in the Gardner Cemetery."
I expect that Catharine's obituary might be available in Pioneer, Ohio, but I have not progressed that far.If there is a printed obituary, it might give more information about her parentage.
