David A. Deihl/Deal/Diehl was my great-grandfather, but he might as well have lived in Cro-Magnon times for all I can discover about him.
He married Belenia Simon (1852-1884) on 3JAN1875 in Wood Co, OH (she was born in Bloom Twp). They had five children (at least): -- Myrtle Liliom Deihl (1877-1931, my GM, married Homer Tyner -- James (nfi) -- Harve(y?) (nfi) -- Gideon (nfi) -- Howard (nfi)
The boys were still living in 1931: James in Akron, Harve in Youngstown, Gideon in Columbus, and Howard in Struthers.
I have Belenia Simon's ancestry back to the late 17th century (she has Diehls, note spelling, in her ancestry), but only two references other than the marriage data have surfaced on David A. Deihl:
-- A David and a Charles Deihl are shown in the 1880 Wood Co census, near Levi Simon (Belenia's father), and -- Levi Simon's will, written about 1900, contains several uncomplimentary references to his son-in-law, David A. Deihl/Deal/Diehl (it's spelled all three ways in that lengthy document).
Has anyone information on the above David A., James, Harve, Gideon, or Howard Deihl?
