While looking at a site called Find A Grave, I happened upon Merel b.1913 d.1993. I realize her husband John may or may not still be alive. Hoping to trace my John Ten Eyck is why I write. Merel is buried in a cemetery at Lake Township Millbury Ohio. It is possible that my John Ten Eyck lived in Ohio but I have no proof. This is what I believe to be true. Cornelia Post wed Matthew Ten Eyck in NJ. Two sons, Henry and John, were children when this couple moved to Ohio in 1812. Henry was an owner of a lot of land in Ohio. His wife was Eleanor Barkalow. John disappears. The first record I have of my John is 1836 when he married Louisa H.Pegg in Wayne Co.IN. Their first born child, Thomas D.,was my ggrandfather b.1837 there. Census records say that John was born around 1799 but not clear if in NJ. Would Merel or John have studied Ten Eyck genealogy? Any possible way I can contact living members of that family?
