I believe that there is a very good possibility that this is the family of A. E. Williams, who married C. M. Sparks in 1890 Clay Co. TX.Annie E. Sparks indicated in at least one census that her father was born in TN and her mother in AR.
1880 Jack Co. TX
John Williams, 37, b. TN
Rutha, 31, b. AR
All the children were born in TX
1870 Parker Co. TX
J. A. Williams, 27, b. TN
R. E. Williams, 21, b. AR
The first child’s name is hard to read but it starts with “M”, age 4
Emma, age 2
Fannie, age 1
I believe that the Emma, age 2, is the same child as Annie, age 12, in the 1880 census.
By 1900 John A. and Ruth E. Williams were living in Clay Co. TX.I believe that Annie Emma Williams is the A. E. Williams who married C. M. Sparks in Clay Co. in 1890.
John A. Williams had a brother, George W., who was in 1870 Parker Co., TX, 1880 living next door in Jack Co. TX, and in 1900 was in Clay Co. TX.He and his wife, Miley, moved to Montague Co. TX before 1910.Carol provided the information that Annie Sparks married Mr. Qualls in 1915, in Montague Co.
Familysearch.org has many Texas death certificates online, although many of the earlier ones are missing. One of the daughters of John A. Williams died in Clay Co. TX in 1947.Her death certificate gives her father as John A. William, b. TN and her mother as Ruthie Elizabeth Brawley, birth place unknown.
I noticed that in the 1870 Parker Co. census, there is a J. W. Brawley, age 27, b. in AR, living next door to J. A. and R. E. Williams, probably Ruthie’s brother.
I have not been able to find an online marriage record for Annie E. Qualls. My guess is that she was married to a Johnson, given name unknown.
In the absence of birth records and death certificates, sometimes it is a matter of building clues. This is what I refer to as strong circumstantial evidence, but I do believe John A. and Ruthie E. (Brawley) Williams are the parents of your Annie E. Sparks.
Findagrave.com has the burial information for John A. and Ruth E. Williams, buried in Clay Co. TX.They also have the death information for John’s brother, George W. Williams, and George’s wife, Miley, buried in Montague Co. TX.
