In Chap XI, List of Wounded, By Company, under Company "F", Sergeants, p. 174, I find Jesse E. Moton. My father, James F. Smith, also in Company "F" is listed under Privates (as wounded) on p. 175.
In Chap XV, Roster of Company, of Enlisted Personnel, First Oklahoma Infantry Upon Arrival At Ft. Sill, under Company "M", Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, p. 213, I find Jess E. Moton. I take Oklahoma City to be the location of his enlistment, as my fater is listed in Company "G", Wewoka, Oklahoma, but actually lived in Yeager, Oklahoma.
In Chap XXII, Roster of Enlisted Personnel 142nd Infantry With Addresses Upon Consolidation (of the 7th Texas Infantry and the First Oklahoma Infantry which formed the 142nd Infantry of the Thirty-Sixth Division) under Company "F", p. 301, I find Jesse E. Moton, Sallisaw, Oklahoma.
Under the heading Roster of Enlisted Personnel, 142nd Infantry By Company, On Going Into Line - under Company "F" p. 366, I find Jesse E. Moton.
As my father James F. Smith was also in Company "F", perhaps the two were acquainted.
