Thank you for responding to my post. The only Conders that I know about for sure were Laura Mae (my great-grandmother) and her sister, Effie.I have their names only because my grandmother told them to my mother, who wrote them in our family Bible. Sadly, I don't have any dates or places listed.Daddy said that Laura Mae died when he was just a small boy in Rush Springs, Grady County, Oklahoma. That means she probably died in the early 1940's.
My father said that he thinks that some distant Conder and Pierce cousins may still live in or around Sterling,Comanche County, Oklahoma. They lived south of Sterling. He said that he always heard that they were tall people. Daddy remembers that his grandmother, Laura Mae (Conder) Pierce, had dark hair and dark eyes.
The Pierces were shorter. My great- grandfather, Lovic Bianica Pierce, who was married to Laura Mae Conder had bright red hair.
The names you mentioned didn't ring a bell, but they may connect when I am able to find out more about Laura Mae Conder and her sister, Effie.I am going to print out your post and keep it for future reference.
I have a great-uncle who is still living. He is in his 90's, but his mind is still very sharp. My father said that he may be able to recognize those names and tell us more about our Conder and Pierce lines. We hope to go visit with him in the near future.
