Louisa (Lou-IZA)Wells JONES m. Canada (C.C.) BALDEN in Linn Co., MO in 1845. He was b. 22 Aug. 1819. Louisa was said to have been a "French" lady, according to my great aunt. Canada is found in the 1860 Sullivan Co., MO, Census. In 1861 he enlisted in the 23rd MO Vol. Inf., Company A. There is a record on the BLM website where Can(n)da was granted a land grant. He signed the papers in Milan, MO. I don't have anything on Louisa and I would like to find out about her family. Canada is noted as Canada BALDWIN on the following OK website:www.harvestcomm.net/org/garfield_genealogy/index.htmCanada is said to have died in OK about 1917-18, from fumes from a gas heater. He was living with relatives named RHODES at the time. Poss. William, John or Frank RHODES.
