"SLAYDON FUNERAL IS HELD MONDAY AFTERNOON
Funeral services were held at the Christian church Monday afternoon at three o'clock for Mrs. W.E. Slaydon, who died at LeForce, Texas, Saturday.Rev. C.W. Spencer, pastor of the church, conducted the services, and interment was made in the Rush Springs cemetery,Callaway and Mullican having charge of arrangements.
Amanda Dee Reeves was born July 8, 1885 at bonham, Fannan County, Texas, and died August 30,, at LeForce, Texas, age 45 years, one month and 22 days.
She was united in marriage January 4, 1909, with Emmett Mikel, and to this union two sons were born,Harold and Kenneth.Her husband died September 26, 1912.She was united in marriage with W.E. Slaydon on September 20, 1922.
When she was about seven years of age she moved to the Rush Springs community with her parents, and continued to live here most of her life, until four months ago, when she went to LeForce, Texas, in an attempt to improve her health.
She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, W.E. Slaydn;two sons,Harold and kenneth;her father, T.W. Reeves;two sisters,Mrs. W.N. Jones of LeForce, Texas, andMrs. T.P McGee, of Ardmore.
She became a member of the Christian church in 1913, and was also a member of the Rebekah lodge."

"Slaton Funeral Is Held Here Today
Funeral service for W.E. (Lawrence) Slayton, 47, who died Wednesday afternoon in a Chickasha hospital as a result of head and neck injuries received Tuesday morning wen he fell from a wagon to the sidewalk at the Johnson Feed stroe, was held at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon in the Church of Christ, Rev. C.W. Spencer, local Church of Christ minister, conducting the service.Interment was made in the Rush Spings cemetery, with Simons funeral home in charge.
Mr. Slayton's neck was broken when he fell from his wagon to the sidewalk, his head striking the concrete.He was rushed to a Chickasha hospital for treatment, but all efforts to same his life were unavailing."

W.E. Slaydon was born February 22, 1885, at Merryville, Louisiana, and came to Rush Springs in 1911.
He was united in marriage with Mrs. Dee Mikel in 1922.He died march 13, 1935, in a Chickasha hospital from injuried received when he fell from his wagon to a sidewalk here, march 12, sustaining a broken neck.Surviving are his parents,Mr. and Mars, W.B. Slaydon of Rush Springs;two sisters,Mrs. A.W. Fuller of Willow andMrs. C.E. Davis of Rush Springs;and a brother,Walter Slaydon of Rush Springs."
