We are seeking the burial location of Private Roger Harrison Bird who died of tuberculosis and pneumonia at Camp Travis San Antonio March 10, 1918.
The camp death certificate idicates he was shipped to Rush Springs, Oklahoma, March 11, 1918, but he is not listed in the online list of persons buried in Rush Springs.
The 1910 census indicates he was the only child of John and Hattie Bird residing in Harrison and the 1917 Draft registration card indicates he was living in Bailey, Oklahoma.
Private Bird is listed on the bronze plaque mounted on the Cooke County courthouse in 1921 as a Cooke County serviceman He was born at Sivells Bend in Cooke county, Texas, but soon there after moved to Oklahoma.
We have been unable to find a burial location for any of the family.
We would appreciate any assistance in locating this fallen veteran. thanks.
