Am looking for information about an incidence that happened in or near Haskell Co., Feb. 1910.Supposedly, Charles Washington Hodges, (and varient sps. C W, Charlie, Hodge) was helping look for a man involved in a robbery. The man was hiding behind a tree and shot C.W. in the back, which killed him.
C.W. Hodges is buried at Lona Valley Cemetery near Kinta, next to his son Perry Hodges. The dates of his birth and death I have are - June 10, 1863 to Feb 26, 1910, but have seen his death date as June, so makes me wonder if someone got the months turned around.Charles was married to a woman named Mary (Southard) at the time of his death, and had several children with her and from a previous marriage.
Anyhow, am wondering if anyone might know what newspaper/s (or other sources) in the area might have carried the story and his obit. And if you know where I might locate these older editions.
