I have only two MORGANs on my list of plot owners:J. M. MORGAN had two adjoining plots [a total of 8 gravesites] and J. R. MORGAN had one plot of 4 gravesites. All were in the oldest part of the Valley View Cemetery.I have quite a bit of information on James Monroe MORGAN, but J. R. has been something of a mystery and if these two MORGAN families were related I haven't yet found the link.
By the time your Goldie died, the old Valley View Cemetery had been expanded twice and renamed the Luther Cemetery -- so that's the name the funeral home would have used, even if she had been buried in her grandfather's plot.
I also checked the list for PAYTON, but found no owners by that name.If PAYTON, Sam or Aaron MORGAN purchased a plot in the newer part of the cemetery after 1948, though, it might not be on my list.
Anything you can tell me about this family [including where they lived before moving to the Luther area, when they left and where they moved to] could help me turn up further clues for you.I've been working on a study of the Founding Families of the Luther area for some years and have accumulated a great deal of information.
