Hi, I'm looking for any information (Obits, census, newspaper articles, school records, etc)on any offollowing Davis family members who lived in McCurtain County, Mainly in Idabel and Garvin from the 1920's to 2000's.
The following people I believe to the best of my knowledge were all born in Arkansas(DAVIS,WOOLARD & CAREY: Hempstead & Sevier Cos / EASTEP,YOUNG: Newton and Madison Cos) and moved to McCurtain County beginning in the 1920's.
JAMES DALE DAVIS (aka JD, Jim, Jimmy) He ran various automotive repair shops, Gas stations, etc in Idabel. He served in WWII, and the Korean conflict.Idabel National Guard? Born about 1920's. He died recently (June 2003?) - I can't even find an obit for him. RUTH B. DAVIS (nee EASTEP) - born in the 1920's - died 1977, ROY JOHNNY DAVIS - born in the 1920's - died in the 1980's ETHEL DAVIS(nee Davis) - born in the 1900's ?, FAY DAVIS ((nee Davis) - born in the 1900's ?, CLAUDIE, RUBY AND CHARLIE DAVIS (all born in the early 1920's) LINDAY WOOLARD (nee CAREY) born in 1870'S in Hempstead Co, AR, VIRGIE EASTEP (nee YOUNG) EARL EASTEP. (aka Isaac Eastep)
*Also: HENRY LEE DAVIS born 1900's? - died in the 1920's? - Where? (He was married to Ethel - sons James and Roy - he died while the boys were young)
A lot of these family members are buried in Canfield Cemetery in Idabel.
There is also a supposed Choctaw connection somewhere in the Davis tree.
I am trying to find any documentation on two sets of DAVIS trees. One DAVIS tree is enough to drive a person nuts, but two DAVIS trees are definite insanity. They are my proverbial brick wall. Any clues or tidbits, you could help me with would be greatly appreciated! Truely and Deeply appreciated!
