With my memory recall cap on: I remember my sister and myself knowing two men probably about age 18 to 20 from Iron Stob. They were cousins. One was Chocwaw and Cherokee and the other was full Chactaw. The one full Choctaw was referred to a Chief. Zel and I were talking with them at the Fair at Idabel but never saw them again. I think their last names was Turnage and their families had large farms around the Red River Iron Stob district.
I don't think my husband is kin to the Browns you mentioned.
One of my brothers mentioned there was an Indian named Brown who came to Oklahoma with a large number of wagons and Indians with him to help farm land. He apprently was very wealthy and since he came to Red River are to farm-just tought I would mention him. I really don't know much about him except for what my brother told me. Faye
