Karen Thanks for the information. I think we have different Van's however they may be related. My GGrandfather was George Jacob Johnson. Until recently we only knew him as Jacob but quiet sure now that his first name was George. My van was born about 1840. He died in 1924. This is according to the 1850 census for Green County Arkansas. He was born in Madison, Carroll, or Green County Arkansas. On his death certificate he was listed born 1834 quiet a difference and on his grave stone he is listed born 1853 It is in agreement with our Johnson researchers that the 1840 date is correct. He did die in 1924 and is buried in Walnut Hill Cemetery in Benton County, Arkansas. After three tries’ I did get his death certificate. First trying the name Van which is on his stone next trying the Van Burin. Later finding the name Martin on a census record I tried the Martin Van Burin and there it was. He had brothers Jacob, Richard, and Henry. Sisters Sarah and Judi. At this time we only have information on Richard and Jacob and the little we have on Martin [VAN] It is possible that your Van could be a son of some of these Johnson's but at this time I could not tell you where. This is a hard name to trace and on my Father's side I am a Smith. Thanks for your time and for any connection you may find to my line. Have a great day Goldie.
