From "The Tulsa Tribune" newspaper, Tulsa, Oklahoma, Wednesday, June 3, 1959, page 18, col. 1--- "Thomas J. Pinkerton Retired Farmer, Dies Blackburn, June 3-Thomas Jasper Pinkerton, a retired farmer, died Monday at a Pawnee rest home. Mr. Pinkerton, 91, a native of North Carolina, came to Oklahoma before statehood and had lived in this area since 1922, with the exception of a year when he operated a cafe in Sand Springs. Surviving are four daughters, including Mrs. L.D. Hampton of Blackburn; two sons, including Gordon of Pawnee, 19 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Blackburn Baptist Church, of which he was a member.Burial will be in Blackburn Cemetery with Poteet Funeral Home of Pawnee, in charge."
