I would appreciate any help locating an obituary for my grandmother's sister.Roberta Maxine Evans parents were D.R. Evans (Aka-Rippy)and Stella Evans. They lived on a ranch as hired hands.D.R. worked in an oil field and Stella stayed home.Roberta was 6 yrs old and fell ill, by the time D.R. got home from working and drove them to the doctor, it was too late.Roberta died in the doctors arms. The information filled out for the death certificate has Evans not Rippy, but the state of OK has no record of her death.Grandma said thatthe wife of the ranch owner made Roberta a pretty yellow dress for the burial and she was buried in Box X Cemetery, Ada, OK.I have checked the cemetery transcriptions and there is no Roberta Evans. To mark her grave, D.R. carved her name in a wooden cross, and placed four iron post, boxing in the grave and an iron chain was strung through the posts, to complete the boxing off of the grave.I have been to Box X Cemetery, and I can not find a marker like that nor any signs of the grave.Grandma said she was buried up the slight hill and to the left as you enter the cemetery.Roberta is the only child not buried in our family's cemetery, in Arkansas, and we would like to have her brought home to rest along side her parents and other siblings. So if anyone can help me with this mystery, I would be forever in your debt.
