Yes that is our family,Henriette Jane Wood (1848-1928) lived with Samuel(1911-1887) his wife, her older sister Sarah Elizabeth (Wood) Boggess (1835-1918) at 1880 census in Tenmile District Harrison Co, WV. Husband Samuel died in 1887, Sarah brought btheir three yong sons to Carthage, MO in 1889. She had two brothers who were successful building contractors Thomas Kennerly Wood (1842-1918) moved there in 1869, and George Brown Wood (1852-1941) in 1882. Young Samuel(1874-1946) was our grandfather.
We are unclear if Henriette joined Sarah on the trip to Carthage, --- or if she met and married William L. Jarvis in WV and moved with him. There were 11 Wood's children orignally in WV.
Interestingly, in 1900 census she and Jarvis were in Coal Co., OK he a building contractor.and was in Claremore at sister Sarah's death June 1918, and by census in 1920, buried in 1928 at Carthage in brother George Brown Wood's lot.
Interestingly, we just located my maternal grandmothers parents Wallick in Peru IN.
Wish I had access to 1890 census, in Carthage, Jasper Co., MO & Harrison Co.,Tenmile District, WV. Sarah (Wood) Boggess and her sister Henriette Wood or Jarvis would most likely be at one or the other locations.
Yes the "Boggess Book" ladies had that 1880 WV census documented as well as in 1910 census with Sarah (Wood) Boggess in Carthage, and 1900 census with our Grandfather in Galena, KS. You or someone had Henriette in Claremoore in 1920 census. My source on the Wood family is confussed about Henriette also.
Thank you for your continuing help in our locating who Wm. Jarvis was, and tracing their trail!
