Robert Bryson & Bertha Amelia Higgins & family Saint John, NB (Originally posted in Bryson Family Forum) This regards Bertha Amelia Bryson and husband James Hazelwood Ellsworth who moved to Portland Oregon.
Hi! I have tried to respond to both Mike Todd and Randy Prouse about their posts regarding Bertha Amelia Bryson and her parents. I have not done much research into Robert Bryson's family line but I have a TON of info about his wife, Bertha Amelia Higgins (b. 23 April 1873 in Saint John, NB, CAN), and her Higgins line. Bertha Amelia Higgins was the daughter of Nathan Augustus Higgins (SR) (1823-1892) & Sarah Matilda Campbell (1825-after 1901). Nathan was born in Eastport, ME, USA to Simon (aka Simeon) Higgins and Margaret Bell. Bertha Amelia Higgins's older brother, Nathan Augustus Higgins (JR/II) (1865-1929) who married Sarah Ann Kyle in Saint John. Nathan (JR) and Sarah had a few children in Canada, the rest they had in Cambridge, MA, USA after they relocated there. One of Nathan (Jr) and Sarah's sons was Samuel Nathaniel Higgins (1891-1957) Born in Cambridge, MA and married there to Mary Ann Bernardine Cabrey/Carberry. One of their sons, Joseph Frederick Higgins, (1913-1943), is my Grandfather; he married Margaret Mary "Rita" Wilson (1911-2002). Through our Higgins line we have ancestors from the Mayflower and several early New England families as well as a Revolutionary Sailor. I would really like to connect with anyone researching Bertha Amelia Bryson, her siblings and or her parents. I have some family photos to share and A LOT of information about our Higgins line to share. Renee B LadyAlaise at g mail dot com
