Virginia "Ginny" Crook died peacefully at her home on April 15. She was 77.
Ginny was born in Somers, Mont., to Cynthia and Arthur Richmond. She graduated high school from Kalispell, Mont., were she met Robert "Bob" Crook. They were married in 1951 in Honolulu, Hawaii, where Bob was stationed in the Navy during the Korean war. When Bob was discharged in 1955, they moved to Oregon, where Bob began working at KOAC TV and Radio and Ginny worked at the Oregon State University Health Department. She retired in 1995. Bob died in 1987.
Ginny - "Mom, Grandma and friend" - was a wonderful person. She was always a delightful spirit. She had a great sense of humor and a quick wit with a big smile … one of the best … none better … she is going home to Dad. "God bless you and we love you both."
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bob; her parents; three sisters; and three brothers. She is survived by one sister, Louise Mackey, also known as "Aunt Weirdo" of Kalispell, Mont.; brother Russ Richmond of Ypsilanti, Mich., and Frank Richmond of Hawthorn, Calif.; son Steve and daughter-in-law Terri Crook of Philomath; daughter Linda Crook of Corvallis; daughter Sherri and son-in-law Mike Gish of Dallas; four grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed.
