A clatsop Plains resident since 1867, Otto Lee Spoon 76 died Friday in Portland. Mr. spoon was born Feb. 2,1907, in Tarkio, Mo. the son of Robert and Anna Spoon. He attended school in Missouri, served in the U S Army, then worked as a welder and machinist for Gunderson Brothers in Portland. During World War II he served in the U S Navy and following his discharge, moved to Seaside. He worked as a welder for the Seaside Blacksmith Shop until his retirement in 1972. Mr. Spoon was a member of the Seaside American Legion Post 99 and the Seaside Moose Lodge 798. In November 19?6 he married Aina Webb in Astoria. She survives. Also surviving are a son,Jerry Spoon, Elkhor, Neb.; two step sons Donald and John Webb, both of Astoria; several grandchildren, Step-grandchildren and great grandchildren and numerous relatives in Missouri. Public graveside funeral will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Ocean View cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Disease Association or the North Coast Unit of the American Heart Association, for wich cards are available at the mortuary.
