I checked the census records fro 1870 through 1910, if they would help. On the 1910 census James says he was "1871 Naturalized", Oregon Archives has " James Quinn, naturalized 1871 Yamhill County" and " James Quinn Intention Naturalization Apr 28 1873"
The Oregonianof Oct 8 1909 " Mrs James Quinn Dead, wife of the ex-postmaster of Quinn, Columbia County is dead after 43 years resident in Oregon. First at Portland then at Quinn. She leaves her beloved husband and one son Frank J. Quinn. Mrs. Quinn took an active part in her husbands business affairs and was well liked"
The Oregonian of Aug 8 1922; " James Quinn old time fish cannery and market man of this state, who died at St. Vincents hospital, Friday, will be buried at Mt. Calvary Cemetery Wednesday Aug 9. services at St Lawrence Church. James Quinn was born in Ireland in 1835. He was proprietor of a fish, game and poultry market between First and second streets on Washington Street for 8 years.And in the cannery business in Columbia County 30 years. He is survived by Frank J. Quinn of Portland and 4 grandchildren; Gordon Quinn and Mrs. Jane Smith of this city; Mrs. Lavinia Fields of Kelso Wash; and Mrs Hazel Atchison of St. Helens OR."
The Oregonian of May 23 1933; " Quinn , late of 326 Park Street , May 21, Frank J. Quinn aged 70 years, beloved husband of Sophronia; father of Mrs. Lavinia Fields & Mrs.Hazel Atchinson of Seattle & Mrs. Jane Smith of Portland. Funeral services May 24th. Interment Lincoln Memorial Park."
The Oregonian of June 17 1933:" Quinn Eatate $12.000. An estate estimated at $12.290.57 was left by the late Frank J. Quinn. according to an inventory filed yesterday in the probate departmemt of the circuit court by Fred G. Davis, Arthur View and C.A. Hines appraisers."
