My name is Mark E Walton and I am the Great Grandson of Herbert O. Lewis (H.O. Lewis).I will try and fill in some of information that we have that you may be seeking. You can also contact me at my email address of:firstname.lastname@example.org for future communications.
As you are aware, H.O. and Della only had one child and that was Doreen.Doreen first married my grand father Robert E Walton and they lived in Roseburg. They only had one child and that was my father, Harold E. Walton.Doreen and Robert divorced and Doreen later married Worth P Wells and they lived in the Medford, Oregon area until her death in 1987. Doreen’s death was due to a series of strokes and Worth passed away a week before Doreen and his cause of death was colon cancer.I have an older sister (Sweet Home, Oregon) and a younger brother (Sweet Home, Oregon) with my sister having two children and two grandchildren.I have one son and my brother does not have any children (only step-children).
Della Brown-Lewis lived in Medford after her divorce from Herbert. She died in 1959 of stomach cancer. Many of the browns including Della are buried in the Odd fellow’s cemetery on the east side of Roseburg.I have pictures of their plots.
If you have pictures of Herbert, my father could pass for his twin brother they look that much alike.I can send a picture of my father who passed away in October of 1994 of colon cancer.Dad was 65 when he passed away.
Herbert left Della around 1920.He pitched a tent in the back yard of Julie and that is when Della moved back to Roseburg. While in Oregon, Herbert was a photographer working in Albany and Roseburg. He also lived in Winchester, Oregon. He owned a photography studio in Roseburg and he also worked for Graves Photography in Albany and Roseburg. Herbert was also a long time member of the Odd Fellows Organization.
Herbert actually lived in San Diego, California. We did not know he married for a third time.In San Diego he was a grocery man and a carpenter. The building where his store was at is still standing.
Herbert moved to Bay City, Michigan and that is where he died in January of 1947 of a massive stroke. We also know that James Lewis was married to a lady named Mary and they lived in Winchester, Oregon.
My grand father Robert E Walton was a photographer and my father was a photographer as am I.You can check out some of my work at: www.webshots.com/audiome.I hope this information is helpful.Sorry I did not find the post sooner.
