William Carlisle CARROLL is buried in Gresham. The funeral home was The Carroll Funeral Home in Gresham, and he was buried in the Forest Lawn Cemetery, also in Gresham.

Some excerpts: He died at age 81. Born 11 Feb. 1886 in Neuburn, North Carolna and moved to Texas with his family in 1890. Later moved to Oklahoma, where he served as a rural mail carrier.
Married Anna May POOLE, 4 Nov. 1905 at Crescent, Oklahoma.
In 1913 moved his family to Washington and for the next 17 years was associated with the J. C. Penney Co., in Chehalis, owned and operated a farm at Adna, managed a store in Kelso and operated the Limbers Funeral Home in Vancouver.
In 1930 he bought the Gates Funeral Home in Gresham, Oregon and changed its name to the Carroll Funeral Home. He and his family have operated it since that time [37 years].
He owned a 10-acre tract in Gresham where he raised flowers and cattle. He was a booster of game conservation practices, active in many sportsmen clubs, and a member of several service organizations. Some of those listed were: AF&AM; Kiwanis; Royal Arch Masons; Tancred Commandery 23 Knights Templers; Al Kader Shrine; Order of the Eastern Star.

Services were Tuesday, March 21, 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Carroll Funeral Home, Gresham, Oregon. Private vault interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Gresham [Oregon].
