I have some additional information for you regarding Fred NELSON.

1920NELSON, Fred (Martha), ironwkr, h A 389 6th.
1921NELSON, Fred (Martha), carp, h 590 Madison. [Research Note: same information for 1923.]
1924NELSON, Fred (Martha), ironwkr, h 592 Madison. [Research Note: same information for 1926, 1927, 1928, 1931.]
1925NELSON, Fred (Martha), bridgmn, h 592 Madison.
1929NELSON, Fred (Martha), millwkr, h 592 Madison. [Research Note: same information for 1930.]
1933NELSON, Fred (Martha), lab, h 592 Madison.
[Research Note: Prior to 1920, the city directories of 1915 and 1918 had several men named Fred Nelson, but none listed with wife Martha.]

Extract:
Date of Card: Apr. 1, 1930:
NELSON, Fred, Pct 51, 592 Madison St., Republican, Iron worker. Born in Sweden.
Naturalization Record: Nov. 16, 1922. Portland, Oregon, U. S. Dist. Court.
Another Foreign Voter Registration Card was for April 12, 1927, and it listed Fred as a Republican, Pct. 29, born in Sweden, Naturalized the same date and place and living at the same address as on the 1930 card.
