I am doing research for my MUIR FAMILY LINE who lived in DuBois, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania from about the early 1900's until William Muir's death in 1942. William Muir was from Scotland and lived in Fallbrook, Tioga County, Pennsylvania in the 1800's and then moved to New York and then came to DuBois and he and his family stayed there until he passed away and his children moved to other places, mostly in the Western pennsylvania area's. I am interested in obtaining information abot Ressinger and Son's Grocery Store that was at 801 Maple Avenue in DuBois because at least two of william Muir's children worked there as young teenagers and maybe into their early twenty's. the two that worked there (as far as I know were Marion and Douglas Muir). I am hoping to find information about them when they worked there, maybe even a photo or two of them at the store or if tht is not possible a photo of the store itself. I am told that it changed hands and at least in the yar 2001 it was Keller Bros. Dry Cleaners. William Muir and his family also lived on Maple Avenue for prpbably most of the years that they lived in DuBois at least in two different address's on that street, they were 227 and 725 Maple Avenue. If anyone has any old photo's of those address's I would appreciate having a copy or any information about how to obtain a copy of them and am willing to pay for any and all info concerning this post. william Muir was not only a poet but also a railroad worker. He worked for the B & S R Ras Freight Foreman from 1909 to 1914 from 1919 to 1926 he was foreman for BR & pRy, and at lest in 1929 he was freight foreman for BR & PR R y
William had a son, douglas who passed away in the 1920's at a young age. He was born in 1905 and worked as an employee for the State Highway Department. Graduated from DuBois High School .
also William had a son Robert who lived in painted Post, New York and son James who lived in Pittsburgh, pa. and daughters Agnes who married Charles Stott. they lived in Kittanning and Catherine who married Alvin J. Swanger.
Any information on this family, photo's and anything that would be of interest for a family history/memory book would be very helpful and very appreciated. thank you very much susan email@example.com
