Our house, located in Menallen Township, Adams County, Pennsylvania was originally owned by the Joseph Lawrence who had moved to Washington County around 1786, and later fathered not only a Congressman of the same name, but other family members who became politicians as well. Our house has a cornerstone of 1760 and Joseph, as well as his father John Lawrence, built our house. In the process of researching this, it seems that some of the "family folklore" I have found on the internet is incorrect. To help keep track of the information, as well as keep track of the restoration we are attempting to do to the house, I have created a website. Please feel free to view it, some of the information I have obtained directly from historical societies may not be available elsewhere, at least that I have seen!
If anyone has any information about this family, particularly about Joseph Lawrence's involvement in the Revolutionary War, I would appreciate any information as well. Feel free to contact me through the website or firstname.lastname@example.org
