Story - Wm. White "Banty" He was very short - 1859 Came from New York to Boise to Feather River, CA and then returned to New York.
Back out to Boise in 1863.Bride to be Rebecca came out by wagon train with her parents to Boise. She arrived in Boise April 1864. They were married in 1865.They returned to New York and then by way of Independence Missouri came by ox team and wagon out to Camp Harney, OR. It took them 5 months to make the journey. They stayed in Camp Harney for three years due to Indian attacks.
1868-1882 moved to Boise and opened a Door and Sash company. George was a master carpenter and cabinet maker. They raised 5 boys and 3 girls. He had a saw mill at Robie Creek Idaho.
George built the first Episcopal Church in the Territory.His sawmill produced lumber that built the homes and businesses of the day.
1896 they went to Blacks Creek Idaho and gold mined. They called it the Golden Eagle Mine.The mine is in operation still today.
Simeon and Rebecca Watkins, Mary Ellen's parents are buried in Boise Pioneer Cemetery. George and Mary Ellen are buried in Morris Hill Cemetary in Boise Idaho.
