First off please note the NEW EMAIL ADDRESSES for me: email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org
I have been very ill and had to stop my research for many months. I am recouperating and have more time on my hands and want to try to put together some of the many different branches (very forked) of my family tree. I am not very good at all of this and I must admit that it gets very confusing for me. Most of my family tree is from Shelby County/Center, Texas. I am hoping some day to get to buy one of the "History of Shelby County" books that I heard was possibly being reprinted.
My Maternal Grandfather was Jewell Elbert Watson (born 1906 and died 1983). He was married to Alma Lee Sowell, who is the daughter of Lottie Lee Colley, ((B: 6/11/1884, D: 1/23/1970), wife of John R. Sowell (B: 10/25/1873, D: 2/18/1934). That is as far as I can get on the Sowells.
Jewell Elbert Watsons' Father was Frank Watson, who was married to Sarah Nancy Broadway. Frank Watsons' parents were Elbert Jackson Watson (son of Jim Edwards Watson & Artie Mincy Samford) and Lisa F? Jim Edwards Watsons' parents were Joseph Watson & Therasa Waller, who was the son of James Watson and Amilia Bickham. This is as far back as I can find.
Sarah Nancy Broadways' parents were Benjamin Franklin Broadway & Louisa Catherine Hughes, who were my GG Grandparents. Benjamin Franklin Broadways' parents were H.F. & Mary Broadway. I don't know any more about the Broadways than this. Louisa Catherine Hughes' parents were James McCain Hughes and Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Samford.
Then you get into the Sanford/Samfords and it is absolutely crazy. There are people in the same families with different last names (Sanford/Samford) and we're not talking one or two children in these families... We're talking 6, 8, 10, 15 or 18 kids in many families. WOW! The more I get into this the more interesting it is. I love it.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
