I was looking through the messages posted on GenForumn and I found several of yours that seem to possibly share some common names and locations of families that a cousin and I have been looking at. As a result, I'm forwarding on a copy of Ýhis message to her as well.
Do any of these names sound familiar: Josephine Daniel, Julia Daniel, Christopher Columbus Daniel?
This is what we know. Does it fit with any of your information?
Josephine Daniel: A woman by this name married Henry Claybourn (sp?) Saunders, the brother of our g-g-grandmother, Anne Eliza/Anliza Saunders Freeman Garrett in Fannin Co., TX. Or her name was possibly Tennesse Josephine Daniel. We've being looking at two pieces of information:
1. 1870 Collin Co, TX Census: Shows these three white females living together: Elisabeth Yeary age 63 born in NC Josephine Daniel age 28 born in Tennessee Tennessee Daniel age 12 born in Texas (Next door is a black family of 8 with 7 of them having Daniel as their surname.)
2. Collin Co. Texas Confederate Pension application for: Josephine Daniel and Henry Madison Daniel. Are these your g-grandparents? According to your posting, your Josephine was born in Georgia in 1846 and died in Collin Co. TX in 1938.
Julia Daniel: Married other Saunders brother: Clark Hardin Saunders.
Christopher Daniel: Married Artemisa (Arta/Artia) Freeman, Anne Eliza/Anliza Saunders Freeman Garrett's oldest child -- a daughter by her first marriage.
All these people lived in the Collin/Fannin/Grayson area of Texas.
Please let us know if any of this fits with your information! Thank you.
