Have discovered that George Powell was George W. Powell. His first wife's was believed to have been Elisha but believe her name was Elizabet (went by Eliza)Watson, who was daughter of Harmon and Sarah Watson born 1832, possibly in Randolph County AL. You are correct, she was deceased when George came to Hopikns County Texas. He came to Texas with his Second wife, Charlotte"Lottie" Watson, who had been previously married to Thomas Allen in 1859 who it is believed he was killed in the Civil War as she is shown on the 1870 Pike Co AL census as a widow living with 13 year old son; next door to her father and mother, Harmon and Sarah Watson. George W. Powell was shown as with no wife and a 1 year old daughter Anna (may have went with Annie) Powell. That census was taken in August 1870. Charlotte married George W. Powell in October 1870, recorded book 6, page 459, Pike Co AL. They came to Texas in 1883, traveling with a Folmar Family, crossing the Mississippi River together and settled in Hopkins County Texas. At that time my grand mother Anna or Annie Watson Powell was age 15. In 1889 she married my grand father Noel Emory Bullock, son of Cornelius and Elizabeth Jane Benton Bullock. It's amazing how fast information came into me from all over; GenForm, Rootsweb abd so many interested genealogical interested people. PCs are wonderful these days aren't they?
