They are not in Texas in 1880. If I look in Alabama, I get some confusing listings. Here's a Charlie with a wife's name that's similar to Amazon.

There are several young girls named Amazon in AL, born 1861, 1877, 1855, 1878. Only a few young Charles McCreas, born 1870,71, and 77. One Charles McCrea, born 1800. If I copy too many records, it just makes a person dizzy. If any of those birthdates look right, I could copy it.
Looking in the national index, there is no Amazon McCrea.
One black Callie McCrea, wife, born 1855 in KY. 176 Charles McCreas of various spellings. If anything looks interesting here, let me know. I love the hunt. In fact, when I find somebody on the first try, I think it's boring!
