Unknown (maybe Tom or Thomas)JACKSON & Dorcas Thibitha (Tabitha?) GIBBS (my great grandparents), both believed to be born in Alabama in early 1820's, had four children: Henry b.1842, Mary Ann b.1844, Thomas Jordan b. 1846, & William (bet.1847 & 1850). They were still possibly in Alabama in 1850. In 1852, Dorcas married Junius Miller in Arkansas. The 1860 Montgomery County AR census shows three Miller children and three Jackson children (Mary Ann, Thomas & a Thos.) living in the Miller household. Date of birth of Thos. coincides with dob of William. No ones knows what happened to him. Family lore has that Henry and his father (unproven first name) were killed in the Civil War.
I have information on Mary Ann and Thomas Jordan (my grandfather).
Thomas Jordan married Frances Rosalie Carter in Arkansas in 1866/then came to Texas in 1873. They had fifteen children--ten living to marry: Jasper, George, Ada, Lucy, Melinda (Linnie), Ruth, Homer, John, Sam & Charlie.
Mary Ann married John Phillips/then David Kelly and stayed in Arkansas. She had three sons by Mr. Phillips: James, Zach & Noah.
WOULD LIKE TO KNOW MORE ABOUT HERITAGE OF (TOM?) JACKSON & DORCAS THIBITHA GIBBS. Would like to hear also from any other descendants.
